the Ballroom with its huge castle fireplace, and authentic gothic furniture set the mood for the coronation of the KING AND QUEEN selected according to their talents or relative position within the group or at random by lot from among the courtiers at the fete. The ARCHBISHOP as the Master of ceremonies, chosen for his dignity, resonant voice, and ability to command attention.crowns the Royal couple and leads the grace at dinner.
A round of toasts to the Prince and/or Princess as wenches pass ale and wine or cider. Then An accolade delivered by one or more members of the Court, extolling the virtues of the "Prince" to be crowned King. Medieval Music by Pendragon

"Let the Banquet begin." might be the King's first command! Lords and Ladies find chairs at long banquet tables laden with beverages and fruits. During the banquet comes a messenger to the Archbishop, or to the King:
"There is a traitor in our midst"! The message is read so that all the guests can hear it. The accused is then "seized" by Castle Staff and taken to a nearby room. Loud cries give the sense that prisoners in the dungeon are undergoing severe torture.
Ultimately it is the King's prerogative to exonerate the wretch, however, many times he asks for a vote: Guilty, thumbs down; Not guilty, thumbs up. Propose a punishment designed to entertain the guests. If he can sing, he sings - he is "made" to "pay" for his crime.
