Some of the most elaborate woodcarving in "Belcourt" is on the doors in this small square hall. Tiny horses heads are incorporated into the over doors, along with cherubs, scrolls, leaves and renaissance ornamentation painstakingly and perfectly hand carved in French oak. Within a long scroll atop the door to the chapel is written the full motto of the Belmont Family: Sans Crainte, qui veult peut. It has been translated: "Without fear, he who will, can." Mrs. Belmont used this entrance, less than ten feet from Ledge Road, exclusively during the years she was in residence after 1910. It opens to the reception room (Family Chapel) and the Grand hall.
